TAX BREAK ON SIGNAGE!
The
Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, signed into
law on February 13, 2008, made several favorable
changes to the federal income tax treatment
of capital assets, which includes on-premise
signage.
|
- Annual limitation for immediate expensing
of capital assets doubled from $125,000 to $250,000
- Phase-out threshold increased from $500,000 to $800,000
of eligible capital equipment
- Effective for capital purchases made during any tax
year beginning in calendar 2008
- Allows extra first-year ‘bonus depreciation’
of 50% of asset cost for certain assets acquired and
placed in-service in calendar 2008.
